What we stand for
A good diagnosis does not begin with machines, but with listening — the technology comes afterwards.

Services

01 — Diagnostics & therapy
(01)

Electroencephalography

EEG
The EEG records the electrical activity of the brain via small electrodes placed on the scalp. The examination is painless and plays an important role in diagnosing and monitoring epilepsy and other functional disorders of the brain.
(02)

Neurography

ENG / NCS
Electroneurography, or nerve conduction velocity testing, lets us check how well electrical impulses travel along the peripheral nerves. It helps clarify numbness, tingling, nerve pain and polyneuropathies as well as nerve compression syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
(03)

Somatosensory evoked potentials

SEP
Examination of the nerve pathways for touch and body sensation, from the peripheral nerve all the way to the brain.
(04)

Visual evoked potentials

VEP
Assessment of the visual pathway from the eye to the visual cortex using light stimuli.
(05)

Auditory evoked potentials

AEP
Assessment of the auditory pathway from the ear to the brain using acoustic stimuli.
(06)

Electromyography

EMG
Electromyography (EMG) examines the electrical activity of the muscles. It makes it possible to distinguish muscle disorders from damage to the supplying nerves and to localise them more precisely. The method is used for muscle weakness, neuromuscular disorders and suspected nerve root damage, among others.
(07)

Ultrasound of the cerebral arteries

Doppler / duplex
Using modern Doppler and duplex sonography we examine the blood vessels that supply the brain. This allows narrowing and other changes of the brain-supplying arteries to be assessed. The examination is used, for example, in stroke prevention and aftercare as well as in certain vascular diseases.
(08)

Outpatient polygraphy – sleep diagnostics

Polygraphy
If sleep-related breathing disorders such as sleep apnoea are suspected, an outpatient polygraphy can be carried out. Various body functions are recorded during sleep. The examination is usually done comfortably at home and provides important indications of whether further sleep-medicine investigations are needed.
(09)

Memory diagnostics and dementia testing

Neuropsychology
For memory, concentration or orientation problems we carry out standardised cognitive tests to clarify possible mild cognitive impairment or dementia. The results are assessed together with the neurological examination and any existing findings.
(10)

Botulinum toxin therapy

Targeted treatment with botulinum toxin for chronic migraine, spasticity, dystonia, sialorrhoea as well as blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Following an individual assessment, the therapy can also be used for pronounced bruxism.
(11)

Traffic medicine

Fitness to drive
We advise and examine on neurological questions of fitness and safety to drive, for example after a stroke, with epilepsy or other neurological conditions. Each case is assessed individually, taking into account the course of the illness, current findings and the applicable traffic-medicine requirements.
(12)

Individual health services

(IGeL)
Some of the diagnostic or therapeutic services listed above cannot be covered by statutory health insurance in certain cases and are billed as an individual health service (IGeL). We will of course inform you transparently and in detail about medical necessity, possible alternatives and any costs beforehand.
